Matt Savage

Technical Manager

Matt’s role in Apex Environmental is Technical Manager.  He also oversees the design team working on new wastewater treatment plants and acts in a consultancy capacity.  Matt has 15 years international experience in the design and delivery of wastewater treatment plants across a range of industries.

Kennedy Boakye

Senior Project Manager

With 13 years experience in oil, gas, chemicals, biogas, water & wastewater industries, Kennedy has worked in project/process systems, regulatory affairs engineering & project management.  Over the past few years, Kennedy has primarily worked in the water and wastewater industry, project managing turnkey design and build projects across New Zealand and Australia.  With a Bachelor of Science in Nuclear and Radiological Engineering, along with many other industry certifications, Kennedy brings a wealth of skills and expertise to his position & is based in our Auckland office.

Bryce Holloway

Sales Manager

Bryce joined Apex Environmental in January 2017.  He has a background in process and fluid engineering as well as working in design and prototyping. Bryce has also been involved in project management. He has studied business management at Auckland University focusing on business, commercial law, economics and accounting.

Murray Chapman

Project Manager

Murray has extensive experience in both the agricultural and horticultural industries and has gained a great deal of technical knowledge over his working life.  He joined the company in late 2011 and plays a real hands on role with installations.  Murray has managed projects across the winery, dairy and food & beverage sectors and is experienced in the installation of Membrane Bioreactors.

Ben Plummer

Design Engineer

Ben joined Apex Environmental in July 2018, the first Auckland based member of the team.  He has a Bachelor and Masters of Engineering (Chemical and Process) from the University of Canterbury.  Having previously worked as both a Project Manager, and Process Engineer, in the water treatment industry Ben is skilled in the design of drinking and process water applications.

Nathan Ton

Design Engineer, Wastewater

As Design Engineer for Wastewater, Nathan is initially based in our Auckland office.  With 17 years of experience in water & wastewater industries, Nathan has vast experience in project management, consulting, designing and installing large scale projects internationally & a broad knowledge of technologies, including membrane bioreactors (MBR), DAFi  (dissolved air flotation with nano bubble) & moving bed biofilm reactors (MBBR).  With Bachelor & Master’s degrees in Environmental Engineering, Nathan brings a professional and skilled approach to Apex.

Ivan Sepulveda

Draughtsperson

Ivan joined Apex in January 2019 and provides in-house draughting to the design & sales teams.  Ivan has 9 years draughting experience and is skilled in 2D (Autocad), 3D modelling packages and CAD software.  After completing his degree in Chile, Ivan has been involved in various types of projects, including working with multi-national companies in the mining engineering industries.  Ivan is creative and innovative, delivering high-quality drawing solutions from simple layouts and profile drawings, to advanced modelling and draughting requirements of complex projects, complementing the design and build projects Apex undertake.

Heiko Franz

Contract Project Manager

As an independent contractor with Treatment Solutions & Design Ltd, Heiko works with Apex Environmental on the management of projects and in a design and technical capacity.  He is an Environmental Engineer, a professional member of Engineering New Zealand and a chartered engineer.  Heiko has a background in water and wastewater plant design and commissioning, with considerable experience in flow monitoring.  Heiko worked at Apex from 2012 to 2018 in Design Engineer and Project Manager roles.

Donna McAuslin

Executive Assistant

Donna comes to Apex Environmental with a strong executive administration background, working many years in the health sector after holding positions in the banking, finance and insurance industries. Donna joined Apex Environmental April 2018 as Administration Manager and Executive Assistant to Directors Steve & Matt.  Donna has a strong affiliation with the company’s ethos and core values that focus on people and environmentally sustainable solutions.

Rachael Thurlow

Accounts Administrator

Rachael joined Apex Environmental in March 2018.   With 25 years of experience working in accounts and office administration along with marketing and graphics, Rachael brings a wealth of knowledge and support to the administration office.  At Apex, her role is accounts payable/receivable, office administration and general all round support.

Malin Tovnell

Assistant Financial Accountant

Malin’s role within the Citycare Group is Assistant Financial Accountant based in Christchurch. Malin joined Citycare in 2013 after moving to New Zealand from Sweden. She assumed the responsibility of managing the accounting requirements of Apex Environmental Ltd from January 2016. Switching recently from a Management Accounting role, Malin holds a well-rounded knowledge base and is nearing the completion of a BAcc through Massey University.

Alastair Ridgway

General Manager Finance & Administration

Alastair is a qualified Chartered Accountant and has 30 years experience working in a variety of industries covering corporate and management accounting.  Alastair is currently the General Manager, Finance & Administration, for Citycare Group, which is a major shareholder in Apex Environmental.  Under a shared services arrangement with Apex, Alastair works closely with the Apex Environmental Board advising on all financial and governance matters.

Donna Burt

Health & Safety

Donna’s role within the Citycare Group is H&S Systems and Communications Manager.  She holds a PGCert Health Sciences (OHS – Otago University) and GDip Business Studies (Massey University)  Donna has worked in a variety of Health and Safety roles over the last 20 years, including at WorkSafe NZ in the Canterbury Rebuild Programme, ACC, Environment Canterbury, Christchurch City Council and consulting for a number of private businesses.  Donna also currently lectures in the distance learning programme in the Health Sciences Department at Otago University.
