Wastewater Treatment Plant for the Miraka Dairy Milk Powder Plant
26 October 2010
Apex Environmental Ltd has been awarded the contract to design and build the wastewater treatment plant for the Miraka Dairy milk powder plant at Mokai, near Taupo.
The plant, incorporating an effluent sump and pump station, treatment tanks, a dissolved air flotation (DAF) unit and overall control system, will separately treat both CIP wastewater and condensate produced by the factory before irrigation onto neighbouring farmland. Installation and commissioning is scheduled for completion by May 2011.
Construction of the factory is being managed by Auckland-based SKL8 Ltd, with completion by August in time for the start of the 2011-12 milk processing season.
“Apex is proud to be associated with SKL8 in the delivery of the effluent solution for this new factory,” says Managing Director Matt Savage. “We look forward to strengthening our relationship with SKL8 and building on our existing reputation in the dairy industry by contributing to this impressive new facility.”
