The system is designed to neutralise and balance the wastewater flows from the tannery to ensure the discharge to sewer is within the consented limits. The system includes a series of sump pumps, a large volume continuously stirred balance tank, a lime make-up tank with dosing system, and a controlled discharge system. Sump pumps are operated by a pump station controller with a conductive level switch assembly, while the balance tank system is controlled from a PLC with user interface enabling a range of process set points to be entered.
