Decentralised Sewage Treatment

Cleaning up for campers

In partnership with the Department of Conservation, Apex Water was engaged from project inception.  This included consents and design through to completion of a wastewater treatment plant to allow a camping ground to reopen to tourists following the failure of the previous system.

A membrane bioreactor (MBR) was installed to reduce BOD and nitrogen levels and minimise solids levels in the discharge to the point where discharge to a protected wetland was possible.
